The 2016 cycle was such a success, and in no small part thanksto our Major sponsors Wolpers Grahl, Real Estate Central and PH Electical Services as well as our Minor sponsors Spokes NT, United Airconditioning and Mechanical Services,NT Plumbing Maintenance Service, Beachfront Hotel, Humpty Doo Tavern, The Coffee Club and FRM Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. We would also like to thank Ace Traffic Management, BranditNT, and Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift and Shift for their ongoing support.
Since 1991 Total Recreation has been highlighting the major role that leisure plays in our lives. At the heart of it is the believe that people with a disability ought to have the same opportunities to participate in sport as the rest of the community. So Total Recreation, a non for profit and community based organisation, was born.
The Katherine To Darwin Challenge raises funds for Total Recreation. Although operation funding is received from the Northern Territory Government, Total Recreation strongly relies on fundraising efforts to continue their work in our community. In 2016 we raised $60,000+ and in 2017 it is hoped that the Katherine To Darwin Challenge will raise $80,000 for Total Recreation.
The 2017 Katherine To Darwin Challenge is a 3 day cycle and will be over nighting in Katherine on Friday & Saturday the 23rd &24th of June, Adelaide River on Sunday 25th of June, then heading into Darwin on the afternoon of Monday 26th of June.
For more information, to support the event, or join the cycle, contact Total Recreation on 08 8981 3686, or through the form on the contact page. The cycle leader, Simon Watts, can also be directly contacted on 041 289 2814.
